WORKSPACE
Studios are in several palm trees and stones in the Dwarka village. Residents shall have 24-hour access to the studio. Goa-CAP provides the Black and white darkroom for the residents for use throughout the day. In addition the following support is also provided to the resident artists
01. Models for portrait sessions can be made available on request.
02. Residents have access to the telephone, computer with Internet access, and video collection.
03. Photography and Painting materials are available at the Goa-CAP Store.
04. Travel to Queshi, a beautiful mountaintop village in the Western Ghats of India with an amazing scenery full of exquisite charms.

ACCOMMODATION
Ten beautiful, natural, medieval thatched cottages, with contemporary interiors are available on twin sharing basis. These cottages are built anew every year, as they have to be dismantled to the ground by the end of the season, owing to the restrictions by the government. DURATION OF RESIDENCIES
2010 Schedule and Fees
 
Artists can choose from full to short term residencies
 
Full residencies
April 15 - May 15       4 weeks         $1500
Sept. 20 - Oct. 15      3 weeks         $1500
(3 weeks in DWARKA the eco cottage resort and one week at the Goa-CAP)
 
Short residencies (Minimum one week)
Between April 15 - May 15              $60/per day
Between Sept. 20 - Oct. 15             $65/per day
 
The fee includes studio space, a twin sharing rooms, and three meals in a day, group trips, and ground transportation from and to the Goa airport. The duration of the Art Commune is one month and artist may apply for short residencies also.
 
An exhibition of the art work produced by the residents in the "Galerie Daguerre” shall conclude the program. The exhibition will be attended by local artists and people from the surrounding areas.

GRANTS
Artists are encouraged to give lectures/ art presentations and conduct workshops with the students at the Art University through collaboration of Goa-CAP. The artists shall be paid for the events related to their educational contributions. Since there are no funding opportunities available in India, artists are encouraged to apply for grants and scholarship in their countries.  Goa-CAP shall be happy to provide the required letters of support.
Indian artists are eligible to get up to 100% discount on the residency fee.
 
Special allowance granted to Latin American artists
As part of Indo-Peruvian art exchange program, in every residency one artist based in Latin America, is eligible to get 50% discount on the total fee amount.

Goa Center for Alternative Photography (Goa-CAP) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in Goa, India. The Goa-CAP is the first conservative art space dedicated exclusively to photography and aims to become a professional and comprehensive platform for the promotion of alternative photography Art in India
 
Art Commune is open to artists working in the field of applied and visual arts, writers, musicians, curators of modern art exhibitions, art historians, critics and educators. The residency aims to provide artists with an opportunity to pursue their range of expression, for experimenting, developing projects, communicating and exchanging valuable creative experiences while working and living in a rural environment.
 
LOCATION:
A journey through several villages and hamlets in Goa, will lead you to DWARKA the eco cottage resort on an isolated beach in Goa. Ten beautiful, all natural, medieval thatched cottages, with contemporary interiors, are set around a fresh water lagoon with each overlooking the Arabian Sea and the lagoon, and beneath the rustling of hundreds of palm trees, which are on different levels, on several acres of land.
